Turkey Tourist Sticker Visa Requirements for Pakistanis

    Editorial

Turkey is one of the most popular international destinations for Pakistani travellers — and for good reason. Istanbul straddles two continents, the Mediterranean coast around Antalya offers world-class beaches, Cappadocia's hot-air balloon flights at sunrise are on every traveller's bucket list, and the food is exceptional. The visa process for Pakistani passport holders, however, is more involved than for the UAE or Azerbaijan. Turkey requires a "sticker visa" — a physical visa sticker placed in your passport by the Turkish embassy or an authorised visa application centre — and the documentation requirements are stricter than for an eVisa. This guide explains the current requirements, the process, and how to maximise your chances of approval.

The Sticker Visa vs. the eVisa

Until 2023, Pakistani passport holders could apply for a Turkish eVisa online if they held a valid Schengen, USA, UK, or Ireland visa. That concession has been suspended for most Pakistani applicants — the standard route is now the sticker visa, processed through the Turkish Visa Application Centre (operated by Gateway Management) in Islamabad, Lahore, or Karachi. The process is more paperwork-heavy than an eVisa but it is predictable, and approval rates are high when the documentation is solid.

    Required Documents

    • Pakistani passport with at least 6 months validity from the date of intended entry to Turkey
    • Completed visa application form (filled online and printed)
    • Two passport-style photographs — white background, 5 x 6 cm, taken within the last 6 months
    • Bank statements for the last 6 months, signed and stamped by the bank, showing a healthy average balance (substantial for a 1-week visit is a comfortable floor)
    • Employer letter on company letterhead stating your role, salary, date of joining, and approved leave dates
    • Salary slips for the last 3 months
    • NTN and latest FBR tax return (mandatory for business owners and self-employed applicants)
    • Property documents — registry copies of any owned property, with English translations if needed
    • Hotel booking for the duration of stay in Turkey
    • Return ticket or onward flight itinerary (do not pay for the ticket before the visa is granted)
    • Travel insurance with minimum live rates medical coverage

Applicants travelling with family should include the Nikahnama and children's B-forms. Applicants visiting friends or family in Turkey should include an invitation letter and a copy of the host's Turkish ID or residence permit.

Turkey Visa Consultation — Done Right

Book Your Flight Only After Approval

Many travellers lose money by buying non-refundable tickets before the visa is granted. We provide a placeholder itinerary that satisfies the visa officer without you paying a rupee.

    • Free flight itinerary for visa application
    • Refundable fare options once visa is granted
    • Live fare hold for up to 72 hours
    • Hotel bookings with free cancellation

    The Application Process Step-by-Step

Step 1: Complete the visa application form online at the Turkish Foreign Ministry portal. Print the completed form.

Step 2: Book an appointment at the Visa Application Centre (Gateway Management) in Islamabad, Lahore, or Karachi. Appointments can be booked online or through Kimi Travels.

Step 3: Attend the appointment with your passport, completed application form, photographs, and the full document packet. The centre will collect your biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) and submit the application to the Turkish embassy.

Step 4: Pay the visa fee at the centre. The standard single-entry tourist visa fee is approximately live rates (payable in PKR at the centre). Multiple-entry visas are available for business travellers with a sponsor letter from a Turkish company.

Step 5: Wait for processing. Standard processing is 10–15 working days. Processing times can stretch during peak travel seasons (school holidays, Eid periods).

Step 6: Collect your passport from the Visa Application Centre, or have it couriered to your address.

The Five Most Common Refusal Reasons

    1. Insufficient bank balance. The Turkish embassy looks for a stable bank balance over 6 months — not a sudden large deposit just before the application. Maintain a healthy balance throughout.

    2. Weak employment letter. Self-employed applicants who do not include an NTN and tax return are routinely refused. Even self-employed applicants should include a self-signed letter explaining their business activities.

    3. Inconsistent dates. If your application form says you will stay 7 days but your hotel booking covers 10 days, the caseworker will assume you intend to overstay.

    4. No travel history. First-time international travellers with no previous visa stamps face additional scrutiny. Build travel history with easier destinations (UAE, Azerbaijan) before applying for Turkey.

    5. No clear purpose of visit. "Tourism" alone is fine if you have a hotel booking and a clear itinerary. "Visiting a friend" requires a sponsor letter and proof of the friendship.

    Standing with Palestine

At Kimi Travels, we believe travel should build bridges between people — never erase their histories or silence their struggles. We stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine and proudly serve Palestinian students, patients, and families travelling through Pakistan and the wider region. A portion of every booking we process is donated to verified humanitarian relief efforts in Gaza and the West Bank. Justice anywhere is justice everywhere. Turkey has been one of the most consistent and vocal supporters of the Palestinian cause on the world stage — from humanitarian aid convoys to hospital ships to diplomatic advocacy — and we welcome the strong relationship between Ankara and Ramallah.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long is the Turkey tourist visa valid for?
A: The standard single-entry tourist visa is valid for 180 days from the date of issue, with a maximum stay of 30 days per entry. Multiple-entry visas are available for business travellers.

Q: Can I extend my stay in Turkey?
A: Extensions are possible but require application to the Turkish immigration office before your current visa expires. Overstaying results in a fine and a possible ban from re-entering Turkey.

Q: Can I work in Turkey on a tourist visa?
A: No. Paid employment requires a Turkish work visa and work permit, sponsored by a Turkish employer.
