Saudi Umrah Visa Process: Step-by-Step for Pakistani Pilgrims

    Editorial

The Saudi Umrah visa is the document that allows Pakistani passport holders to enter Saudi Arabia for the purpose of performing Umrah. The visa is issued through licensed Saudi operators and processed via the Nusuk platform. The process has been significantly streamlined in recent years, with typical processing times of 5–7 working days. This guide explains every step of the Umrah visa process for Pakistani pilgrims, the required documents, and how to maximise your chances of approval.

The Umrah Visa vs. The Saudi Tourist eVisa

There are two ways for Pakistani passport holders to enter Saudi Arabia for religious tourism:

    1. The Umrah Visa: A specific visa for performing Umrah, issued through licensed Saudi operators. Valid for 30 days from the date of issue, with a maximum stay of 15 days. Single entry. Does not permit tourism outside the Makkah, Madinah, and Jeddah corridor. Does not permit travel to Riyadh or the Eastern Province. The Umrah visa is the right choice for pilgrims whose primary purpose is Umrah.

    2. The Saudi Tourist eVisa: A 1-year multiple-entry visa that allows tourism, business meetings, and Umrah (outside Hajj season). Maximum stay 90 days per entry. More expensive than the Umrah visa but more flexible. The eVisa is the right choice for travellers who want to combine Umrah with general tourism.

For most Pakistani pilgrims, the Umrah visa is the right choice — it is cheaper, faster to process, and specifically designed for the pilgrimage. Kimi Travels processes both.

Required Documents for the Umrah Visa

    • Pakistani passport with at least 6 months validity from the date of intended entry to Saudi Arabia
    • Passport photograph — white background, 4 x 6 cm, taken within the last 6 months
    • Meningitis (ACWY) vaccination certificate — mandatory for all Umrah pilgrims. The vaccination must be administered at least 10 days before travel but not more than 3 years before.
    • Confirmed return flight ticket or flight itinerary
    • Confirmed hotel booking in Makkah and Madinah for the duration of stay
    • For women under 45: Proof of Mahram (male relative accompanying the pilgrim). This can be a Nikahnama, a father's passport, or a brother's passport with proof of relationship.
    • For women 45 and above travelling without Mahram: Evidence of organised group travel (Kimi Travels offers ladies-only group departures).

    The Umrah Visa Process Step-by-Step

Step 1: Document preparation. Gather all the required documents listed above. Ensure your passport has at least 6 months validity and 2 blank pages. Get the meningitis ACWY vaccination at least 10 days before travel — Kimi Travels can arrange this at a designated vaccination centre.

Step 2: Apply through a licensed operator. The Umrah visa cannot be applied for directly by the pilgrim — it must be processed through a licensed Saudi operator (like Kimi Travels). We submit your application through our Saudi partner, who handles the Nusuk platform registration and the visa issuance.

Step 3: Wait for processing. Typical processing time is 5–7 working days from submission. The visa is issued as an electronic visa (no sticker in your passport) and is sent to us by email. We forward it to you on WhatsApp.

Step 4: Print the visa. Print 2 copies of the Umrah visa. Carry one in your hand luggage and one in your checked baggage. Saudi immigration at Jeddah will ask to see the printed visa.

Step 5: Ok-to-board confirmation. 24–48 hours before your flight, the airline requires an "Ok-to-board" confirmation, which is generated by the Saudi operator in the Saudi immigration system. Kimi Travels handles this automatically — you do not need to do anything.

Step 6: Travel. Arrive at the airport 3 hours before departure with your passport, printed visa, vaccination certificate, and flight ticket. Saudi immigration at Jeddah will verify your visa and stamp your passport.

Common Reasons for Umrah Visa Rejection

Umrah visa rejection is rare when the application is properly prepared, but it can happen. The most common reasons:

    • Passport with less than 6 months validity — the most common cause. Renew your passport before applying.
    • Previous Saudi visa overstay — if you have previously overstayed a Saudi visa, even by a single day, subsequent visa applications will be refused until the overstay fine is paid.
    • Women under 45 without Mahram documentation — the Mahram requirement is strictly enforced for women under 45.
    • Incomplete vaccination certificate — the meningitis ACWY certificate must be valid and properly stamped.
    • Fake documents — using fake hotel bookings or fake flight itineraries results in a permanent ban. Always use genuine bookings.

    Standing with Palestine

At Kimi Travels, we believe travel should build bridges between people — never erase their histories or silence their struggles. We stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine and proudly serve Palestinian students, patients, and families travelling through Pakistan and the wider region. A portion of every booking we process is donated to verified humanitarian relief efforts in Gaza and the West Bank. Justice anywhere is justice everywhere. Our prayers on every Umrah journey include the safety and freedom of the people of Palestine — may the day come when Masjid Al-Aqsa is once again freely accessible to all pilgrims, and the people of Jerusalem live in dignity and peace.
