Direct Flights from Sialkot to Jeddah: Schedule & Booking

    Editorial

The Sialkot-to-Jeddah air corridor is the lifeline for pilgrims travelling from the upper Punjab region to perform Umrah and Hajj. Before Sialkot International Airport (SKT) opened in 2007, pilgrims from Sialkot, Gujrat, Gujranwala, and parts of Azad Kashmir faced a 4–6 hour drive to Lahore or Islamabad to catch their pilgrimage flight. Today, direct flights from SKT to King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) in Jeddah operate several times a week on PIA, with additional seasonal rotations on AirSial and Saudi Arabian Airlines. This guide explains the schedule, the carriers, the baggage rules, and how to book the right flight for your pilgrimage.

    The Direct Carriers

PIA (Pakistan International Airlines) operates the most frequent direct service on the SKT–JED route, with regular flights throughout the year and additional rotations during peak Umrah season (Rajab, Ramadan, Shawwal) and the Hajj period. PIA uses Boeing 777-200ER and Airbus A320 aircraft on this route, with a flight time of approximately 5 hours 40 minutes. The baggage allowance is generous — typically 2 pieces at 28 kg each (56 kg total) in Economy, which is critical for pilgrims carrying prayer mats, dates, gifts for relatives in Saudi Arabia, and supplies. PIA's Umrah fare includes a 10-litre sealed Zamzam container for the return journey, issued at Jeddah airport at no additional cost.

AirSial operates seasonal Umrah flights on the SKT–JED route, typically during Ramadan and the school holiday periods. AirSial uses Airbus A320 aircraft with a comfortable 3-3 Economy layout. The baggage allowance is 25 kg + 7 kg cabin. AirSial's fares are often the most competitive in the market, particularly for early bookings.

Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) operates periodic direct rotations on the SKT–JED route, particularly during Hajj season. Saudia uses Airbus A330 and Boeing 787 aircraft with a superior onboard product. The baggage allowance is typically 2 pieces at 30 kg each.

    For Travellers Heading to Madinah

Direct flights from SKT to Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport (MED) in Madinah are less frequent than to Jeddah, but PIA operates them during peak Umrah season and Hajj period. For pilgrims who want to start their journey in Madinah (a popular choice for first-time pilgrims who want to acclimatise in the calmer atmosphere of the Prophet's Mosque before travelling to Makkah), the direct SKT–MED flight is the most convenient option.

If no direct SKT–MED flight is available on your preferred date, the alternative is to fly SKT–JED on a direct flight, perform Umrah, and then take a Saudi domestic flight or private transfer to Madinah. The drive from Jeddah to Madinah is approximately 4 hours by air-conditioned vehicle; the Saudi domestic flight is 1 hour 30 minutes.

    Booking Tips for Pilgrims

Book early for peak season. Ramadan flights sell out 8–12 weeks in advance. The last 10 days of Ramadan — the most spiritually substantial time for Umrah — sell out fastest. If your dates are flexible, the first 10 days of Ramadan typically have better availability and lower fares than the last 10.

Pre-book excess baggage. Pilgrims routinely carry more than the standard allowance — prayer mats, ihram fabric, gifts, dates for the return. Pre-book excess baggage through Kimi Travels at least 48 hours before departure to get roughly half the airport rate. A standard 5 kg excess at the airport costs around live rates; pre-booked through us it costs around live rates.

Choose the right aircraft. PIA's Boeing 777 service on the SKT–JED route has a 3-3-3 Economy layout with 32 inches of pitch — comfortable for a 6-hour flight. PIA's Airbus A320 has a 3-3 layout with 30 inches of pitch — tighter but adequate. AirSial's A320 has a 3-3 layout with 31 inches of pitch.

Build a buffer day. Pilgrims connecting onward from Jeddah to Madinah by road should build a buffer day into their itinerary. The drive can stretch to 5–6 hours during Hajj season due to traffic, and a missed connection means a delayed start to the pilgrimage.

What to Expect at Jeddah Airport

King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah has a dedicated Hajj and Umrah terminal that handles the vast majority of pilgrimage flights. The terminal is functional rather than beautiful, but it is well-organised. On arrival, proceed through immigration (have your printed Umrah visa, passport, and vaccination certificate ready), collect your bags from the carousel, and proceed through customs. The customs officers may ask about the contents of your bags — answer briefly and honestly. Outside the terminal, your hotel transfer (pre-arranged through Kimi Travels) will be waiting with a name board.

For the return journey, the Zamzam water distribution counter is located airside after immigration. Each pilgrim is entitled to one sealed 10-litre container of Zamzam water, which is checked through to your final destination as part of your baggage allowance (it does not count against your checked baggage limit). Bring the empty container back with you — do not pack it in your checked baggage.

    Standing with Palestine

At Kimi Travels, we believe travel should build bridges between people — never erase their histories or silence their struggles. We stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine and proudly serve Palestinian students, patients, and families travelling through Pakistan and the wider region. A portion of every booking we process is donated to verified humanitarian relief efforts in Gaza and the West Bank. Justice anywhere is justice everywhere. Our prayers on every Umrah journey include the safety and freedom of the people of Palestine — may the day come when Masjid Al-Aqsa is once again freely accessible to all pilgrims, and the people of Jerusalem live in dignity and peace.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I carry Zamzam water back from Umrah?
A: Yes. The Saudi government issues a special 10-litre sealed Zamzam container at Jeddah airport. This does not count against your checked baggage allowance.

Q: How early should I arrive at SKT for a Jeddah flight?
A: 3 hours before departure. The check-in counters close strictly 60 minutes before departure — there are no exceptions.

Q: Can women travel for Umrah without a Mahram in 2026?
A: As of the latest Saudi policy, women aged 18 and above may perform Umrah without a Mahram as part of an organised group. Kimi Travels offers dedicated ladies-only group departures with female coordinators.
